Green with Envy

I'm pleased to say that in casual "what's new" conversations with friends, clients and associates, as I explain our impending journey and planned activities, most people respond very positively with compliments, well wishes and proclammations, like: "Have a great time, that sounds fabulous" and Wow, your wife must be a very understanding and incredible women to let you travel internationally for 3 weeks". To which I say, "exactly". She may be "letting me go", but it has not been without incessant barking and protesting for the last 12 months, to be followed up by 3 more months of reminders, and of course the obligatory credit card bill with quadruple digit $$ signs of how much she missed me......

Of course, jealousy is an emotion most of us can feign or suppress when necessary. Most of you have expressed a slight amount of envy, which is understandable, considering the natural beauty and cultural uniquenesss of our destination. There is one of you, that will not only be jealous, he isn't with us, he will be missing us more than he will tell. He is: Big Toe -Andy. Notice the look of sadness and forlorn in his puppy eyes. Andy, in his gracious and giving nature, actually taught my tech sorry ass how to blog and post photos. This was self serving in nature, so he could stay in touch with his buddies. He will be beside himself with his daily routine being altered, without his daily conversations with Big Country and Shabadoo. Well Andy, thanks for the knowledge and in honor of you, this post is for you good friend. see you tomorrow. 4 days and counting to take off!!!
